Why Gavin is doing this trip?!
I want to sail on No Ka Oi for both the peacefulness and adventure this trip will bring. It's a great way to get away from the endless distractions. When I sail, it becomes my whole world -- cell phones, email and bills are replaced by wind, water and sails. It compels you to live 'in the moment' and simply be more aware of your surroundings. Within that separation are endless challenges and opportunities for new experiences. Since ancient times, sailing has always been a way to test our ability to understand nature, and to withstand it's intensity. There's an irresistible sense of adventure in crossing the Pacific, carried by the wind and the waves. Sailing on No Ka Oi will be the perfect way to experience all of this. Phil, our knowledgeable captain, has picked out a great crew, and I'm confident that we'll have a safe and inspiring trip.
